About Us

When Kate Kaplan's child, Winter, was 8 years old, Kate took them to festivals where she saw that Winter was fascinated watching geodes being cut open. Kate then began taking Winter to the Charlotte Gem and Mineral Club. Kate won a class at William Holland Lapidary school through the club and has taken a class every summer since 2003. There she studied wire wrapping, chain making, lampwork bead making, cold connections, enameling and glass fusing.

Kate established Kate's Trinkets & Treasures in 2003 which later became known as Kate's TNT. Kate's current work shows a touch of whimsy, consisting of copper, dichroic glass and enamel, specializing in hair accessories.

Kate goes to many art shows and festivals on weekends.

Please email me before placing an order to make sure an item is still available as it sometimes takes me several days after a show to catch up on inventory.

Lastly, confession time. I have a very difficult time recognizing faces, so please reintroduce yourself if we've met before.

If you can’t make it to my shows, please order from my website or contact me to make other arrangements.
